Rothbury, Northumberland, England
In his own words, the bigger the likelihood of failure the more Tommy Wilkinson is compelled to poke his head into the fray to see what’s up. A bike rider first foremost, Tommy’s became adept at wearing a chameleon like coat when it comes to other aspects of his life . He’s an award winning photographer and cinematographer, an event organizer, a coffee shop owner, environmental pragmatist (his words!), a Dad and a co-founder of the Not-for-Profit Cheviot Valleys Trail Stewardship .
He was, and still is, a keen racer, having won numerous Scottish DH races and spent two seasons chasing the World Cup dream as a dirt bag privateer. A “little bobble” on a jump in 2013 left Tommy with a fractured skull, brain hemorrhage, a spinal cord contusion, damaged disc and permanently paralyzed right arm. Taking a little while to find his feet again, he now rides a modified Tallboy around his beloved Northumberland, a wildly expansive county in England that Borders Scotland.
A dry sense of humor sometimes sends confusion into the digital ether about what he’s really like, but Tommy is an open book in the real life interactions that he craves.
