Bikes as a Force for Good

We don’t just believe in quality bicycles, we believe in quality of life for everyone and everything.

We believe that without trails and access to them nobody’s having fun, so we support organizations and individuals that are doing the hard work as stewards of singletrack.

A few facts:

  • 90% of our the electricity used to design and build your bike in Santa Cruz is powered by solar.
  • SCB employees rode 58,230 miles commuting to and from work in 2018.
  • 1,411 employee hours volunteered for advocacy efforts in 2018.
  • 100% of the packaging that comes into the Factory is reused or recycled.
  • We make bikes that last a long time and can be repaired (available spares, easy repairs).
  • 94% of the beer we drink comes from within 15 miles (probably).
  • SCB donated and raised $400,155 in 2018 to support new trails and trail maintenance on existing trails.

Supporting Local Trail Building and Trail Advocacy - Santa Cruz Bicycles

Slow and Steady

Our bike builders, techs, employees, and athletes are making moves behind the scenes every single day. Tossing dirt, donating race winnings, and writing letters might not make headlines but this stuff does add up and it definitely makes a difference.

  • Trail dig days in Santa Cruz, Downieville, and Oregon

  • Employee bike-to-work program

  • Matching the charitable donations of our athletes and employees

  • Treating dedicated trailbuilders to custom tools

  • Letter writing and commenting campaigns to local government
