Learn more about the new organizations that are a part of our PayDirt program

Santa Cruz's PayDirt initiative has named 11 organizations as the new funding recipients for 2022. Encompassing a wide variety of projects—from mountain bike mentorship programs to adaptive trail- and kid-focused trail building to all-weather trail networks. The new PayDirt recipients are stand-out additions to the program's $1 million pledge to fund projects that create and strengthen opportunities for people to get out on the trails.

Here’s a quick rundown of the 2022 PayDirt organizations.

Iconic trail development projects:

  • Appalachian Mtn Bike Club (Knoxville, Tennessee) will be working with their partners over at The Drop Inn to expand permanent trail access for the community by adding four new trails—including two rowdy, progressive, all-weather downhill trails that will provide users of all abilities with new experiences. Visit @ambcknox on Instagram.
  • SEALPS (Sospel & Roya Valley, FR) is working to revive forgotten trails and build new connections, including the "Vallon de Bachialon" in the Roya Valley (and several trails in the Sospel region), which will be part of the 2022 Stone King Rally route. Visit www.sealps.eu to learn more.

  • Trash Free Trails (Wales, UK) received funding to support their State of Our Trails Summit, which will bring a broad spectrum of the recreational trail community together to put the protection and enhancement of the trails and wild places at the 'top of the bill.'
