Tobin Ortenblad
Tobin Ortenblad
Englewood ProXCT 1st, White Rim FKT record holder (reverse loop)
Tobin Ortenblad, more affectionately known as ‘McTubbin’, isn’t your average cyclocross racer. This Santa Cruz local and the former under-23 national champion is also stretching his legs and looking to race cross-country against the nation's fastest riders.
A fan favourite for his hard-charging style and steadfast work ethic, Tobin’s life on two wheels didn’t start as many of his peers. Building jumps and riding BMX in his youth, it didn’t take long for cyclocross to enter his life. His father, already immersed in the NorCal cyclocross scene (and his sister too), racing bikes, regardless of the conditions, became a firm family preoccupation. He's grown up while flying around the world competing on the UCI CX circuit and drafting behind his dad's scooter while training at home.
Tobin will be racing on the htSQD, the team partnership between Rapha and Santa Cruz with support from SRAM/RockShox. The team have a varied calendar that will see them contesting traditional XCO events as well as domestic epic marathon events, and some personal challenges along the way.
