Craig Evans: The Steel City’s Chameleon

Enero 30 — 2019 | Santa Cruz, CA

You can’t stop change but some things never change. A simple recipe of Craig Evan’s steez-at-pace riding combined with some Steel City Media motion picture majesty will never go out of style.

Late last year, right before Craig went into surgery to fix a niggling injury, he and Joe Bowman went out into the local woods for a thrash about on the latest Carbon Chameleon. The duo have a history of hardtail hooning videos and this is just latest chapter.

Raised on roots, ruts, and rocks, Sheffield local Craig Evans knows a thing or two about getting rad. Regarded as one of the UK’s most fertile hotbeds of two-wheeled talent, it didn’t take long for Craig’s riding to catch the attention of another local and Santa Cruz stalwart, Steve Peat. From those early days on the British circuit, chasing the World Cup dream and working long hours in the off-season, Craig has made an impact and name for himself in the sport. This would culminate in 2017, winning what is arguably the gnarliest gravity mountain bike race in the world—Red Bull Hardline—effortlessly tackling the steep and treacherous track with pin-point accuracy.

We're proud to support Craig and we think this year is going to be a good one for him and fans of flair on film.
