Enduro World Series 2018 - Round 1 - Chile

Marzo 26 — 2018 | Lo Barnechea, Chile

A scorching sun and six stages of Chilean anti-grip enduro riding greeted the Santa Cruz Enduro team in Lo Barnecha over the weekend. It's only been a matter of months since Mark Scott, Iago Garay and a handful of Santa Cruz riders had tackled the moondust of the Chilean Andes for the Santa Cruz Andes Pacifico, and there they were, back in town for the kick off to the 2018 EWS season.

Joined by their teammate Josh Lewis and Free Agents Josh Bryceland and Mitch Ropelato, the boys slotted right into the loose, fast, and upredictable track. Over two days of racing (including the longest stage in EWS history) a few difficult moments would claim Iago, Mitch, and Ratty (DNFs), and see Josh Lewis finish 67th with Mark cracking into 20th position. See all the results here and the action below.

Eye of the tiger. Wait... are there tigers in Chile?

Free Agent Mitch Ropelato would go 28th, 41st, and 15th before a DNF on Day Two ended his day before it really began.

Over six stages, Mark Scott would run: 47th, 12th, 21st, 16th, and 18th—and finish 20th in the overall.

Round Two: Manizales, Colombia coming your way in just a few days.
