Santa Cruz Syndicate rider Josh Bryceland continued his time in the limelight with another podium at UCI Downhill World Cup #5 in Mont- Sainte-Anne (CAN) on Saturday, August 2nd.
Now 24, the former Junior World Champion has finally found the consistent form we’ve all known he’s capable of. His 2nd place in Canada comes off the back of a National Champs win in Innerleithen (GBR) and World Cup win in Leogang (AUT).
Bryceland’s run of 4:11:807 aboard the new Syndicate V10 race bike propels him to 2nd in the overall World Cup standings, with 757 points.

"I had a cracking top section, then got a bit fatigued, and made a couple of mistakes,” snorted Josh from the finish line. “But to still come in and finish 2nd on a new bike feels amazing."

Greg Minnaar, the current back-to-back World Champion, suffered a series of tough crashes during the race day practice, but dug deep to score a 7th place run, and hold on to 6th in the overall.

"I had a big crash in practice. I was hurting a bit in finals so I tried to ride smooth and I'm happy to come in 7th,” admitted Minnaar.

Steve Peat also battled injuries and had the added pain of missing luggage, but still finished 21st with a 4:20:429, improving his overall rank to 16th.

“I really struggled in practice with arm pump, but it was great to work with the guys from Fox to get my new bike dialed and it felt amazing in my final run,” explained the big Yorkshireman. “I managed to stay strong to the finish line. I'm happy.”

The riders are now prepping for the final two World Cup races of the season in Windham (USA) and Méribel (FRA) on 7-9 and 21-23 August respectively.
