If you’ve stopped by the Santa Cruz showroom sometime in the last couple of years, there’s a chance you’ve talked to Nic Bean or he’s set up your demo bike. He's a quiet, hard-working local who’s built like Richie Rude, but with better hair, a part-time Santa Cruz employee and full-time bike racer.

After tackling the regional California Enduro Series races and successfully chasing the U21 National Enduro Series Champ title in 2017, Nic made the decision to step up to the big leagues and race internationally for 2018 - a season that sent the 19 year old across the pond for the first time to race a total of five EWS races starting in Montagnes du Caroux, France and wrapping up recently in Finale Ligure, Italy.

The stoke is high for the young gun as he wraps up his first EWS season healthy and hungry for more in 2019.

Nic’s main goal for the season was to gain as much experience as possible racing at the international level without setting any unreal expectations on himself. This is key to a young rider’s development since racing is taxing as it is without the added pressure of setting the bar too high early in your career.

After wrapping up in Finale a couple weeks back, he’s back to the drawing board and resting up a bit before he starts training harder than ever for the 2019 season, which will be his last year in the EWS U21 category. Nic’s goals for next season are to continue to progress as a bike racer and all around rider while ideally finishing in the Top 10 overall.
