Santa Cruz to Sponsor 2018 French National DH Championships

Februar 11 — 2018 | Morzine, France

We're proud to announce sponsorship of the French National DH Championships in Morzine from July 26-28, 2018.

Working in partnership with the Morzine-Avoriaz Tourism Office and the Pleney Lift Company, we're also helping to develop a brand new DH track for the occasion, on the legendary Pleney mountain.

"The French National DH Championships in Morzine marks the return of top class downhill racing to Morzine, in the heart of the Portes du Soleil region." explains Christophe Mugnier, Director of the Morzine-Avoriaz Tourism Office

"Mountain biking is booming here during the summer months and some of the most famous riders in the World now choose Morzine as their training base. For the French champs, a brand new track will be created on the Pleney slopes.  The infamous steep fast gradient promises spectacular racing, and the easy to access for spectators will make this a great show for everyone."

Syndicate rider Loris Vergier will be there to compete for National honours with the full backing of his team.  For the past few seasons, team mates Greg Minnaar and Luca Shaw have used Morzine as their home from home for training and, erm, not training.  Meanwhile team mentor Steve Peat has even taken up residency!

The entire Syndicate crew are busy testing new set-ups for the forthcoming World Cup season, which kicks off in Lošinj, Croatia on April 21-22, 2018.  You can follow all their progress, including regular installments of The Syndicate web series, right HERE.

The French Champs news comes at a time when Santa Cruz Bicycles has also just announced the official opening of their first ever European Headquarters. Located right in the centre Morzine, the new offices feature a permanent showroom for the entire Santa Cruz and Juliana range that is open to the public year round. Drop in to check out Greg Minnaar's World Champs winning race bike on display, and start getting your psych on for another amazing season of downhill racing.
